If you love to sing choral music and are looking for a friendly group of down-to-earth people to sing with, the Chorus of Communities welcomes you!!!
Our membership ranges from ages 14 to 80+. We have members from Belleville, Bloomfield, Newark, Nutley, Montclair, Verona, Kearny, Harrison, North Arlington, Rutherford, Clifton, Carlstadt, East Orange, Randolph, and a few other towns in northeastern NJ.
There are usually 10 rehearsals per concert, held from mid-September thru early December for the Winter concert, and held from late January thru early April for the Spring concert. Rehearsals are held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Belleville, NJ. So you should be within driving distance of Belleville. Bethany Lutheran Church is located on the corner of Joralemon and New Streets, which is one short block west of the intersection of Joralemon St. and Union Ave.
Joining the Chorus of Communities requires only a very simple audition -- matching pitch with a few piano keys. And you should have some previous experience singing with a church choir, a high-school or college choral group, or some other singing group.
We must charge a nominal fee to defray the cost of music, CDs and concert expenses. Dues are $25 per semester or $40 per year (if paid in full).
